I get asked a lot of the same things on intro calls, so I pulled the most common ones here. If you don't see your question, bring it to your free intro call, or just reach out directly. I'd rather you ask than wonder.
Most adults looking to lose weight and improve their metabolic health are a good fit, especially if you've tried the standard advice before without getting real results. The best way to know for sure is a visit where we go through your health history together, since the right plan depends on your specific case.
At your first visit, before we talk about any specific treatment, we go through your full medical history together, including allergies, prior treatments, and family history. That history is what actually determines your plan, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. GLP-1 medications get most of the attention right now, but they're not the only option for weight loss and metabolic health. Depending on your history, your plan might include a different medication or a different approach entirely, whatever actually fits your situation.
Not for your membership itself. Waypoint runs as a cash-pay practice, so there's no insurance billing, no prior authorizations, and no surprise denial letters for your visits, monitoring, and ongoing support. Labs and medication are billed separately from your membership, and depending on your plan, those may be able to go through your insurance.
Pricing depends on which option fits you best, the Waypoint 90-Day Intensive or the ongoing membership. Rates can change, so the most accurate, current numbers are best discussed on a free intro call rather than locked into a webpage that might be out of date by the time you read it. Medication is a separate cost.
Every plan includes visits with me directly, ongoing monitoring, and direct messaging access so you're never left figuring things out on your own between visits. The Waypoint 90-Day Intensive adds a Metabolic Starter Kit shipped to you, more frequent telemedicine visits, and twice-weekly check-ins for a higher level of accountability. Exactly what's included depends on which option you choose, and we'll walk through that clearly before you commit to anything.
That depends on your insurance coverage and your individual clinical situation. For many patients, that means a prescription sent to your local pharmacy or one that ships directly to your home. In some cases, a compounding pharmacy may be appropriate based on your specific needs. We'll go over what makes the most sense for you during your visit.
Yes. I'm licensed in Missouri, and telehealth visits require you to be physically located in the state where I'm licensed at the time of your visit. If you're a Missouri resident, or you're in the state when we meet, you're good to go.
If you're outside Missouri, I can still offer coaching support, just not medical care like prescriptions, diagnosis, or medication management. Jump on a call and we'll figure out what makes sense for you.
Here's the truth: anyone can lose some muscle while losing weight, regardless of how they're doing it. That's just how weight loss works without the right precautions in place. The risk is higher on GLP-1 medications specifically because weight loss can happen quickly, and without monitoring, that speed often means a larger share of what's lost is muscle rather than fat.
That's exactly why monitoring is built into your plan from day one. You get a body composition baseline before you start, so we know exactly where you're beginning, individualized protein targets to support muscle retention as you lose weight, and resistance training guidance based on standard medical exercise recommendations. This isn't personal training. It's real direction and accountability to help you stay active in a way that protects your strength.
You're never figuring either one out on your own. A plateau gets investigated before we touch your dose, since there's almost always a reason behind it once we look closely. Side effect management is part of every visit, not something you have to bring up yourself. If something feels off, we talk about it in real time.
Yes, this is common. A lot of patients come to us after starting somewhere else and wanting more structure, more attention, or a provider who actually follows up. We'll do a full intake, review your history and any current treatment, and build your plan around exactly where you are now.
A Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a licensed medical provider trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, working in formal collaboration with a physician as required by Missouri law. I have over a decade of clinical experience and specialty training in obesity medicine specifically. Because I'm not splitting my time across a packed primary care schedule, I'm able to spend real, focused time with each patient, which can be harder to find when working with a physician carrying a much larger caseload.
Day to day, you'll work with me directly and independently. The collaboration requirement is about oversight behind the scenes, not about who actually sees you for your care, that's always me. You won't be handed off to the collaborating physician or asked to see anyone else.
If this feels like the right fit, I'd love to connect. Book a free 15-minute intro call, no paperwork, no commitment, no pressure. We'll talk through where you are, what you've already tried, and whether Waypoint is the right next step for you.
Waypoint prescribes in Missouri. You'll need to be a Missouri resident, age 18 to 65, for the medical program. Outside Missouri? Ask me about non-prescribing support options on your intro call.
